Money Saving Tips

Now more than ever we need to save money and preserve the natural resources that God put in our stewardship.

Pay your bill on time.
Pay your bill by the Gross Date.  A 10% late fee is added to bills after the Gross Date.  Dandridge Water Management Facility Bills are due by the 12th of each month.  One way to ensure bills are paid on time is to setup your account for bank draft.

Install Rain Barrels.
Capture rain to water your flowers and gardens.  Rain barrels typically collect water from rooftops via rain gutters and are great ways to water plants, gardens or other items.

Consider reusing your towels.
When staying in a hotel or even at home, consider reusing your towels.  This will not only conserve on your water and electric bill, you will reduce the amount of laundry.

Place dropped pieces of ice on your house plant.
If you accidentally drop ice cubes when filling your glass from the freezer, don’t throw them in the sink.  Drop them in a house plant instead.

Look for Energy Star ratings when purchasing a new clothes washer.
When shopping for a new clothes washer, compare resourse savings among the Energy Star models.  Some of these can save up to 20 gallons per load and energy too.
