Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation

Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is commonly referred to as TDEC.  According to the Tennessee Blue Book,
The Department of Environment and Conservation is legally required and ethically committed to protecting and improving the quality of Tennessee’s air, land, and water.  The department meets its mission through managing regulatory programs that set standards for air, water, and soil quality; providing assistance to businesses and communities in areas ranging from recreation to waste management; and through a series of programs to inventory, interpret, and protect Tennessee’s rich natural, historical, and archaeological heritage (pg. 191).
