The Town of Dandridge is accepting applications for the position of Utility Worker for the Dandridge Water Management Facility. PRIMARY DUTIES: Under supervision, performs varied physical labor and semi-skilled tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater system facilities and equipment; performs other related work as required. Work is primarily of physical nature requiring a moderate degree of manipulative skill and use of independent judgement and initiative.  Operates varied mechanical equipment on a regular basis; works on utility crews installing and repairing mains, service lines, fire hydrants, meters; and other appurtenances. Subject to after-hour call out for emergency work.  QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Graduation from high school or GED; General knowledge of basic construction and maintenance materials methods and terminology. ARC Sanitary Sewer System Improvements Bid Solicitation

The Town of Dandridge will be soliciting bids for sewer system improvements. The sewer system improvements consist of approximately 6,384 linear feet of 8-inch HDPE force main and a duplex pump station upgrade and all other associated appurtenances, valves, fittings and connections. This project is being supported with American Rescue Plan Act, Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Fund grant funding. Therefore, certain restrictions and other federal requirements attach to this opportunity. Separate sealed bids for the Sewer System Improvements will be received by Town of Dandridge at the water management facility located at 1114 wastewater rd., Dandridge TN 37725 until April 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM Local Time and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. It is the sole responsibility of all plan holders, whether they have received digital downloads or paper copies of the plans and specifications, to periodically check Addenda which will be posted at Knoxville Blueprint & Supply. The Copeland “Anti-Kickback” Act is also applicable, which prohibits workers on construction contracts from giving up wages that they are owed. Contractors must not appear on Sam.gov disbarment list. A detailed listing of all subcontractors shall be provided by the Bidder. In accordance with the Contract Documents, documentation that the prospective General Contractor and its subcontractors meet minimum qualifications shall be provided and submitted. Subcontractors must also not appear on Sam.gov disbarment list. Mark-ups on subcontractor work or Cost-Plus Overhead will be disallowed for reimbursement.

A bid bond or certified check for five percent (5%) of the total bid amount must be accompanied by each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond in the amount of his bid and shall, before entering on the work of said contract, be licensed as a contractor of Jefferson County The owner reserves the right to waive any Informalities or to reject any or all bids. New, Lower Cost Convenience Fee for Credit/Debit Card Payments

As a way to provide savings to our customers, we have changed our credit/debit payment processing provider.  With this change, the convenience fee has been reduced from 2.75% to 2.5% with no minimum fee for online or in office payments.  For phone payments, the fee will be 2.5% plus $0.30.

In addition to the direct cost savings for customers, this transition provided the following benefits to DWMF:

  • Automatic payment posting to utility accounts in the software. (Reducing opportunity for human error in manual processing).
  • All information is live and up-to-date (real time).
  • Zero cost to city for providing payment and interfacing options. (Savings of $1,310 from the previous interface fee).

PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE

The Town of Dandridge will be conducting a Public Meeting on September 5, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., at the Dandridge Public Works Office, 267 West Highway 25/70, Dandridge, Tennessee 37725. The purpose of this meeting is to present information on the Town’s application for Clean Water State Revolving Fund loans in the amount of $400,000. Funds will be utilized for the planning and design services associated with an infiltration/inflow (I/I) correction project.

The impact of this project on monthly user rates will be discussed.
